Other Cases of Visa Exemption in Vietnam
The 30-day visa exemption is granted to those entering the Government-designated coastal economic zones that meet the following criteria: having an international airport, having their own space; ’ve established geographic barriers and being distinct from the continent; and being in connection with socioeconomic development policy initiatives whereas the causing no harm to Vietnam’s domestic security, safety, social structure, or security.
- Holders of an APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) with a valid passport are exempt from Vietnam visa rules for stays of up to 60 days. If you do want to stay a bit longer without having left Vietnam, see the Vietnam stay dispensation with ABTC.
- British National Overseas (BNO) citizens living abroad are ineligible for the 15-day visa exemption to Vietnam. As a result, they must obtain a visa to access Vietnam.
Conditions for Obtaining Vietnam Travel Exemptions of Visa
To encounter Vietnam with a Vietnam visa tax break, eligible tourists must meet the following requirements:
Their passport must be valid for at least 6 months after their date of arrival in Vietnam, and it must contain at least two blank pages; and a negative COVID test certificate (with the exception of children under the age of two) obtained within 72 hours of departure if using the RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method, or within 24 hours if using the rapid diagnostic test method.
VIETNAM TRAVEL EXEMPTIONS OF VISA / 5-YEAR VISA
I. Qualification

– Vietnamese people living in other countries.
– Spouses and children of Vietnamese citizens or Vietnamese people living in other countries.
– Possessing a passport with at least one year of validity.
II. Those Ineligible For a Vietnam Travel Exemptions of Visa certificate
– Those who do not meet the criteria for obtaining a visa exemption certificate
– Those who fall under the restrictions on entry and exit outlined in Articles 21 and 28 of the Law on Foreigners’ Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence in Vietnam.
III. Vietnamese Citizens Living in The United States Must Apply in Person at The Embassy

If you are still unable to come in person, the documents get sent via Registered Mail Restricted Delivery service, or you can agree to allow a third party to publish the application forms on your representative, with the exception of parents trying to apply on behalf of their children. Children under the age of 14 are not required to attend in person.
The following documents must be submitted:
(1) One filled-out application form with a recent photograph
You must complete an online application form at…….., then print and sign it. The printed implementation must be completely filled out and have a visible barcode. Please keep in mind that this is a mandatory requirement. You must re-register if the implementation is incomplete or lacks a barcode.
Only when your children are mentioned in your passport do you provide the necessary information by Item 12 of the pattern.
Children with their own passports must fill out separate forms, rather than registering on their parents’ or guardians’ forms.
2) A recent passport photograph (size 46, white background, straight on, no sunglasses or headwear).
(3) Applicant’s US passport (valid for at least one year) and a copy of the passport’s page (the page showing personal detail).
(4) A copy and the original of one of the following Vietnamese documents proving the applicant’s Vietnamese citizenship:
– A Vietnamese citizenship certificate;
– A copy or an excerpt from the Decision to Restore Vietnamese Citizenship;
– A copy or an excerpt from the Decision to Renounce Vietnamese Citizenship;
– Lost Vietnamese citizenship certificate;
– A valid or invalid Vietnamese passport;
– A valid or invalid identity card;
– A Certificate of Birth;
– The most recent voter registration card;
– A Book of Family Records;
– A passport issued prior to 1975;
An identification card issued prior to 1975;
– An excerpt from a birth certificate issued prior to 1975;
– Documents approved by proficient foreign governments if they can demonstrate that the person in question is of Vietnamese provenance or has initial Vietnamese citizen status.
(5) If you have sent the papers by mail or authorize a third party to do so, the manuscripts must be notarized by a Notary Public (if the originals are not attached).
IV. Foreigners Who are The Spouse or Child of a Vietnamese National Living Abroad or Vietnamese Citizens Must Apply In Person at the Embassy.

Children under the age of 14 are not obliged to visit in person.
The following documents must be submitted:

(4) Original and a copy of one of the following documents proving the applicant is the spouse or child of a Vietnamese community member or an abroad Vietnamese, namely a birth certificate or marital certificate, as well as the applicant’s spouse or parents’ Vietnamese passport/birth certificate/ID. If indeed the files were decided to issue by US authorities, the Notary Public must legalize them.
(5) If you have sent the documents through mail or authorize a third party to do so, the papers must be notarized by a Notary Public (if the originals are not attached).
V. Authenticity
– The visa exemption certificate must be legitimate for up to 05 years and fade away at least 6 months first before applicant’s passport expires.
