Tourist visa (DL) is among the most common types of Vietnam tourism visa, viable for up to three months (single/multiple entry) or even one year (for US passport holders only) and can be revived once you arrive in Vietnam. This is only for tourists and is not designed for tourists who actually want to work while in Vietnam.

Nevertheless, under Law 51/2019/QH14, which takes effect on July 1, 2020 and amends and supplements a number of articles of the Law on entry, exit, transit, and domicile of foreigners in Vietnam, holders of a visitor visa viable for more than 30 days will be granted 30-day temporary accommodation only and will be considered for extension after every 30 days.
