About the museum
Vietnam Museum of Ethnology was formed in 1981 in Hanoi with an area of 3.27 ha. This work is designed by architect Ha Duc Linh and interior design woman Veronique Dollfus (French). The museum is like a miniature picture of the history and culture of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam with extremely unique cultural diversity. The artifacts are on display in many different categories such as clothing, jewelry, weapons, musical instruments, religion, beliefs and many other spiritual activities.

What attractions of Vietnam Museum of Ethnology?
The museum is divided into three main exhibition areas: Trong Dong building, outdoor display area and Southeast Asia exhibition area. Trong Dong Building
Trong Dong building has two spaces, 1 themed display space and is always renewed on the 2nd floor, while the first floor space introduces the identity of 54 ethnic groups. Outdoor Area
After visiting the Trong Dong building, visitors will encounter a large courtyard, which is an outdoor display area. There will be a meeting of the unique architecture of the people such as the Tay’s stilt house, the Ed’s stilt house, the Tay’s stilt house, the H’mong’s Pomu shingled ground floor. Located in the garden campus, there is also a rice mortar with water power of the Dao.
The exhibition area in Southeast Asia
Next, visitors can visit the Southeast Asian exhibition in the museum. From a distance, visitors will find the display area built in the shape of a kite – a traditional cultural feature not only of Vietnam but also of the ASEAN region. The kite represents dreams, ambitions, freedom that lasts forever.
Here regularly exhibits about Southeast Asian culture, Indonesian glass paintings, a glimpse of Asia and around the world.
